Yemen is among the very first countries in the region who has specialized law for microfinance banks which is law number 15 which define the microfinance banks as an any financial institution authorized by the Yemen central bank to implement activities that seeks to provide bank services for families, small farmers and small and microprojects in both urban and rural areas where those services aim to create equal opportunities along with improving livelihood situation for community. All microfinance institutions contribute in reducing both poverty and unemployment rates
